About Voltric

Voltric is a company that's focused on mobility as a service. At the moment, for them this means bring electric vehicle subscription to people who want to avoid the huge upfront costs usually seen with other types of car finance or lease agreements.

With this car subscription service, you pay a monthly fee that covers servicing, insurance, road tax, and breakdown cover. It's what you'd expect.

However, they too, similarly to elmo, are trying to actively educate drivers on their CO2 footprint and try to make it clear how much emissions they save with their interactive tool.

Founded in 2020, Voltric has been going from strength to strength.

How does Voltric work?

The signup process is quick and easy, and can all be done online. New customers usually go through these steps:

  1. Create an account, add your personal information.
  2. Choose an electric vehicle from their inventory.
  3. Pick a term-  either 12, 24 month subscription or a rolling monthly contract.
  4. Pay initial subscription deposit.
  5. Select a delivery date for your new car.

The service is flexible with just 30 days’ notice required to upgrade, pause, or cancel a subscription (if you're on the monthly rolling contract).

Driver eligibility and requirements

The eligibility criteria to get a car through Voltric are as follows:

You can read more about Voltric's eligibility here. We also have an in-depth guide which explains the driver requirements and subscription eligibility in a lot more detail.

How much does Voltric cost?

Voltric helps you focus on driving, while they take care of all vehicle costs. All of which are included in your monthly subscription payment. This means you get:

  • Comprehensive insurance.
  • Servicing & maintenance.
  • Breakdown cover.
  • Vehicle recovery.
  • Road tax.

The initial costs to get started include:

  • A one-time sign up fee
  • 1st month’s payment (depending on the chosen car and optional add-ons).

The sign up deposit is non-refundanble, however if you change your mind and still have 3 days prior to your subscription start date, you will be able to get your money back.

Notice that there isn’t a large upfront deposit, unlike with other forms of car finance and car leasing.

Here's an example of what your Voltric subscription could look like:

  • Car subscription - £568 (eg. BMW i3)
  • Sign up fee - £110
  • Delivery - £0
  • First month payment total - £678
  • Monthly payments after - £568
